Due to internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to join our Technical Team at one of the UK’s most loved brands, Fox’s Biscuits; makers of the Party Ring, Chunkie Cookies, Chocolatey, Fabulously and many more.
The QA Manager will have full ownership of the QA team. They will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of food safety and quality management system over 3 shifts via Fox’s Biscuits and customer standards. The QA Manager will be responsible for delivering Quality products that are food safe and legal, that promotes and develops employee engagement in the pursuit of Food Safety & Quality. Also they will promote best practice through the FSQMS and to support and develop Operations team, Engineering and wider business functions. This a key role in helping to manage and maintain Technical Retailer Relationships with all key retailers.
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar QA position within food manufacturing. They will have experience of leading audits, implementing continuous improvements and good working knowledge of manufacturing and food standards. They will have excellent stakeholder and communications skills, with the ability to build relationships cross functionally. They be self sufficient, confident, driven and be able develop themselves and the team to continue to improve Quality department at site.

This is where you come in…
As the QA Manager you will lead the internal audit programme and ensure all relevant audits are carried out on time and to a high standard. You will also lead the site HACCP team and monitor and trend non conformances from complaints, incidents, audits ideally using root cause analysis and implement corrective & preventative action and ensure follow up.
You will also develop FSQMS procedures to meet BRC and customer requirements and participate and lead customer and technical audits and visits. You will manage and support the QA Team and work collaboratively with the wider Technical team while reporting into the Technical Manager.
You will work with operations engineers and other functions to improve standards and ensure planned quality KPIs/TSMI are met or exceeded. Along with being responsible for the Site Product On Hold system and procedure and achieve full site traceability.
Previous experience in a similar QA position within Food Manufacturing
Educated to Degree level or equivalent e.g. HND or evidence of Continuous Professional Development – ideally in Food Science / Safety
Able to prioritise and manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines
Works well in a team or individually
Works well under pressure
Knowledge & experience of BRC and customer COPs or Manufacturing Standards
Qualifications: Level 3 Food safety, Level 4 HACCP, Lead auditor, Allergen, Root Cause analysis, Code Verification, Sensory
Good communication, written English and Basic numeracy.
Quick to build relationships and to engage others to get a resolution at pace
