A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our, fast paced, ever changing, soup production plant. This unique opportunity that will allow the successful candidate, the autonomy and control to manage the H&S department and the sort of responsibility that a true Health & Safety Manager would crave.
Based at our Soup site in Grimsby you will take responsibility for all H&S related matters. A large part of your role as H&S Manager, will be to engage with all sites staff and ensure adherence to H&S regulations and site policies. You will use your friendly and nurturing personality to gain “buy in” for all new and existing health and safety matters, along with checking all site safety audits are accurate and deliver corrective actions for failures. Additionally you will conduct safety inspections, safety training, provide guidance and create an safety focused environment where staff feel comfortable pointing out and helping to minimise any safety risks.
You will collate monthly information and statistics relating to accident data, investigation reports, audits, non conformance and ongoing safety improvement projects. These will be presented the site GM’s along with your direct line manager the Divisional H&S Manager based in Wales.
Key skills / experience / qualifications

- Minimum 2 year HSE Management experience
- Previous HSE experience within a manufacturing environment
- NEBOSH Diploma - Desirable (to obtain within 12 months if successful)
- Knowledge of EMS (Environment Management Systems) would be highly advantageous
- Experience of delivering IOSH training (Highly advantageous)
- Food production experience (Highly advantageous)
- Competent influencing skills
- Able to engage stakeholders at all levels
